“We refuse to be enemies”

The world seems to be in uproar at the moment. Violent aggression as a means to solving differences is all the rage. Whether it’s drones, armies, or sectarian warriors, the talking gets less and the killing gets worse.

The people running the drones, armies and warriors seem to love it and can’t think of any other way. It was the same 100 years ago, when our people were sent off to the trenches to die in their thousands. And it’s easy for us, average person in the street, to assume that is the way to go too.

Yet every now and again, you come across people who, by peaceful bravery, challenge the aggressors, and refuse the pressure to take sides. Gulp! Good on the BBC for publishing this story…
