We’re recruiting
Are you ready to innovate in your life, and take some risks in your faith?
Colchester Vineyard is a recent start-up with a big vision – to build a community of faith that, by the way it lives and works, will reach out to people in Colchester for whom church and religion seem irrelevant, or even malign.
So, we’re looking to recruit excellent team players who will share our vision, values and objectives.
Here’s a priority list of job titles (in no particular order):
Party throwers; pray-ers; artists; musicians; poets; teachers and encouragers; those willing to exercise gifts of healing, prophecy, etc; friend-makers; givers; community builders; worship leaders; servers.
Person spec
We value character over gifting, track record over qualifications. Applicants will have made mistakes and learnt. They will be grounded in the Bible, and empowered by the Spirit. They will value and model teamworking, honesty and accountability, will know their weaknesses and not take themselves too seriously. Coming from another church, they will have “left well” and have good references.
Applicants will very likely…
• want to develop their discipleship of Jesus
• yearn to see all people saved, healed and set free
• want to help make disciples of Jesus
• like to do church outside church
• welcome women in leadership
• want to serve, and advocate for, the poor, oppressed and marginalised
• want to engage thoughtfully with culture
• want to see Colchester enriched spiritually and in practical ways
• want to bring integrity to business and civic life
• have a sense of humour.
Salary and benefits
No salary, no contract, no job security. But work could be rewarding.
