We’re so pleased to report that the medical students we’re sponsoring in Malawi can get now back to work following the re-opening of their colleges. They had been closed in October 2018 following disputes between staff and government.
Last week, back home here in Colchester, we desptached 17 boxes of glasses and medical equipment destined for Malawi, via our wonderful friends at The Bananabox Trust in Dundee.
And next Saturday, 2 February, at Maldon in Essex, we are offering for sale some of the amazing vintage, retro, and designer glasses that turn up amongst the used glasses donated to us. The venue is the Maldon Flea Market, Maldon Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon, Essex. Open 08:30 – 15:00. All proceeds will go to medical training and the development of eyecare services in Malawi.
Finally, we’d like to mention again how grateful we are for all donors, friends and collaborators, who supply glasses, equipment, time and effort, and funds. They range from individuals, churches, hospitals, companies and other trusts. You are brilliant!
