We had a busy and productive evening on Friday 12th. Thanks to all who joined us! Many specs were measured on Friday, and lots more were made ready previously, thanks to friends who have been sorting and measuring glasses at home in between the Goggle Works evenings. Altogether, 643 pairs of glasses were beautifully bagged and boxed up by the packing teams.
As a result, we sent off 16 boxes with measured glasses, sunglasses, low vision aids (magnifiers etc), a slit lamp, and medical text books. All boxes have now safely arrived in Scotland, and are waiting to be loaded into the container organised by our dentist friends at Smileawi. It will depart for Malawi next week and will arrive in April.
We also celebrated the arrival of a new autorefractor, which has been kindly donated to our Malawi charity (The Raven Trust) by Colchester Trinity Rotary . We’ll be saying more about this brilliant gift in due course. Here are Alistair Keeble (Colchester Trinity) and his wife Jackie with the autorefractor.
